This Service and Inside Sales position will be working with heat transfer equipment to support our customers in the Energy market. The incumbent will utilize his/her skills to provide excellent customer service by providing the solutions to the customers’ requests. His/her technical skills will provide an added value to the customer when selling parts and advising proper service. The main purpose is to grow and develop further Service business. Communication/promptness is the main priorities for this position as well as a data driven and analytical approach.
About the position:
  • Conducts himself/herself in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
  • Assist established customers with mechanical & electrical parts and service orders.
  • Identify business opportunities within the market and concluding direct sales of Alfa Laval products and services within a defined area of responsibility (e.g. geographical, group of customer, industry or product group etc.).
  • Develop technical and value quotes reflecting the customer needs stressing the unique selling points.
  • Provide direct support to customer during the quotation process with advanced technical support in a timely manner (including Engineering related to spare parts sales enquiries)
  • Support and response to customer’s technical enquiries and preparation of contracts, pricing, and commercial negotiations
  • Actively follow up the quote to understand if the proposed value is understood and if it is matching the customer needs.
  • Assist in maintenance of sales tool information (ERP, CRM, Installed Base…), including inventory files relevant to spare parts quotation and orders, customer, contact info and equipment information in Installed Base
  • Use the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions.
  • Provide contract sales representatives with direction on opportunities in their regional territories.
  • The ability to present service offerings to different audiences in person, via telephone/video, and e-mail as required.
  • Responsible for attending weekly sales and production meetings to receive and provide updates for current open orders.
  • Responsible for providing exceptional customer service to ensure return business with all accounts.
  • Develops a list of prospective customers to use as sales leads based on installed base information along with market and industry intelligence.
  • Nurture qualified leads for service, spare parts and maintenance and convert them to orders: manage the service & spare part sales and order process, from the enquiry to the on-time delivery and invoicing.
  • Review pending orders and specific customer requests to ensure excellent customer service and customer experience.
  • Minimal and occasional travel will be required.
What you know:
Associate degree and/or at least 5 years of practical experience with 3 years’ experience in a customer service/sales environment, to include the following:
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • High energy with high level of self-initiative and strong sense of urgency.
  • Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and sales environment.
  • Ability to read equipment blueprints, wiring schematics and process and instrumentation (PID) diagrams.
  • Ability to multitask; being resourceful; having high integrity, expected self-starter are all important attributes.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
